Two days after announcing corporate services director and town treasurer Cari Pupo is no longer employed with the municipality, Pelham has introduced a replacement.

On Wednesday, the town announced it has hired Teresa Quinlin to serve as acting director of corporate services and treasurer during the transition period of finding a permanent recruitment for the role.

The town announced Monday that Pupo “is no longer employed by the town,” but did not indicate whether she had left of her own accord or had been let go.

Quinlin is a knowledgeable professional in the corporate and financial services sectors and has experience leading and executing significant capital projects, said a media release issued by the town on Wednesday. The release also cited Quinlin’s “decades of relatable experience at Niagara College and, most recently, (at) an independent consulting firm for not-for-profits that focuses on budgeting, scenario planning, financial reporting and risk management.”

“I’m happy to be joining the Town of Pelham and I am looking forward to working with such a dynamic team of people,” said Quinlin in the release. “The town’s corporate commitment to being vibrant, creative and caring is a vision that deeply resonates with my own philosophy.”

Quinlin’s first day on the job was Wednesday.

“Council recognized the importance of filling this position quickly with a highly-qualified candidate,” said Mayor Dave Augustyn in the release. “We’re fortunate that someone with Ms. Quinlin’s experience and knowledge was available on an interim basis, and we have every confidence in her ability to fulfil the role.”
