CIBC robbed in Smithville

Police have issued security photos in an attempt to identify a man who robbed a Smithville bank Monday.

The armed robbery occurred at 4:15 when a lone male entered the CIBC branch at 124 Griffin St. N., brandished a weapon and demanded cash.

Staff gave him an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect ran off.

Police describe the man as white, 20 to 25 years of age, 5-foot-11 to 6-foot-2 tall with a thin build. The suspect had a black balaclava covering his face, black pants with a red stripe, and black hooded sweatshirt.
